Abstract

Handwritten file copy of letter to Bernard Compton, from Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, Governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor, referring to Compton's letter of November 13th regarding his brother, Jacob Compton. He explains that Compton has not requested extensions of his previously-given leave and therefore that readmission will depend on the reason for his failure to comply with the Harbor's rules. Trask explains that Bernard Compton's inability to support his brother is not sufficient cause.
