Abstract

Handwritten letter from Lorin H. Botsford, inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, stating that he saw Justice [Augustus] Acker the previous morning and he informed Botsford that Dave [David C.] Woods [sic] was on the General Committee at the Republican convention and sold his vote for ten dollars, voting for Warder. Botsford says that he believes Acker wished him to tell Trask about the matter.
