Abstract

Handwritten letter from Fred C. Bryan, head of the reading room and inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, reporting that inmate R. [Robert] M. Doan [sic] has used impertinent language and shown disrespect in the reading room. Bryan states that Doane refused to remove his cap and claims Captain [Hiram M.] Chaffee witnessed the incident.
