Abstract
Handwritten letter from James Stewart, former inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, stating that he has sent an application for readmission to the board of trustees, in the hopes that his 22 years of service in the Navy may help his chances. He states that he is 71 years old and quite feeble and hopes that Trask will pity him and forgive his former misconduct.
