Abstract
Handwritten letter from Reverend A. H. [Alfred Hinsdale] Partridge, to Reverend Morgan Dix, recommending the bearer of the letter [Samuel Carr] to Dix. Partridge states that he has known the bearer for 14 years and that Carr has been a communicant in good standing at his parish in Brooklyn. 

Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.

[Cataloguer's Note: The name of the bearer is mentioned once in the letter, as a Mr. Carr. This appears to be the same individual as Mr. Samuel Kerr, who is mentioned in a letter by Morgan Dix to Captain Ambrose Snow of Sailors' Snug Harbor.]
