Governor Thomas Melville's quarterly reports to the Sailors' Snug Harbor Board of Trustees, 1867-1878
AbstractBound volume of handwritten quarterly reports from Sailors' Snug Harbor governor Thomas Melville to the Board of Trustees. The reports include expenditures, information about new and existing inmates. Each is signed by Melville but appears to have been written by a clerk or assistant, as the handwriting is different from report to report.
The volume is in very poor condition; the leather binding is almost entirely flaked away at the spine and a number of the gatherings/signatures have become detached from the rest of the book. The pages themselves are all lined and numbered and are in good condition. There are several pages that have been entirely removed, including page 321/322.
