Abstract
Handwritten daily journal of Governor Thomas Melville for the year 1870, including notes on activities occurring around the Harbor, such as inmate work assignments. Some of the entries include information about specific, named inmates. The entries are written in a pre-printed bound journal that includes space for each day and date from Monday through Saturday. Several pages are blank but the significant majority are filled with Melville's entries.
