Abstract
Handwritten letter from Henry P. Treadwell to Captain Thomas Melville, requesting an extension of leave from October 1st, 1877 to May 1st, 1878. Treadwell states that his health in generally failing and he is unlikely to return to the Harbor as an inmate, but would like to remain on the books for the time being.
