Letter to "Governor Welbom", from Charles Schultze, April 10, 1878

Identifier
SC-0016-I-D-1-A-212
Abstract
Handwritten letter from Charles Schultze, to Governor Welbom [Weilbom?], requesting an extension of leave for on month due his wife's illness.

Received while Captain Thomas Melville was governor of Sailors’ Snug Harbor.

[Cataloguer's note: Shultz is also spelled Schults in the inmate records, but it seems that both spellings apply to the same person.

There is no record of a "Governor Welbom". The name may also be spelled Welborn, but there is no record of that name either. It is unknown if the writer made a typo or intended the letter for someone else.]
