Handwritten copy or draft of a letter from Governor Thomas Melville to Dr. Charles Orr of the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, in response to his letter of February 10, 1882, regarding Horace Curtis. Melville explains that Dr. Bogart provided Curtis with a letter guaranteeing payment to the Infirmary for one week and that the Infirmary should have written to Dr. Bogart if additional time was needed. He explains that Bogart cannot approve the bill for additional time after the fact but that Melville will raise the matter at the next Executive Committee meeting.
