Abstract

Handwritten letter from John W. Ferrier, of J. N. [Niven] Hegeman & Co., to the Superintendent of Sailors' Snug Harbor. Ferrier explains that he was a friend of the late Captain Sam [Samuel] Whiting, who was also a fellow Freemason, and would like more information about his death. Received while Captain Thomas Melville was the governor of Sailors' Snug Harbor.
