Handwritten letter from Samuel Grayson, inmate, Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Thomas Melville, complaining about his roommate, Coburn, who was staying with Grayson until Coburn's own room was finished. Grayson complains about Coburn's infractions, including leaving windows open and keeping mutton in his room and inviting Ned Monroe in to talk. [Cataloger's note: The letter is undated but is filed in the 1873 folder.]
