Abstract

Handwritten letter from John H. Lunt, former inmate of Sailors' Snug Harbor, to Captain Gustavus D. S. Trask, asking for readmission. He apologizes for having left without permission
and clarifies the circumstances of his departure, explaining that he checked in with Dr. Henry DeWitt Joy about the time of his departure. He mentions speaking with Captain Ambrose Snow and Captain Richard Luce about his desire to be readmitted and explains that he is in poor health and is asking for Trask's help.
